Franschhoek

The weekend after our birthday party, Kim and I went to Franschhoek. Pretty much all previous times we’ve gone there, we’ve done the wine tram and thats still very highly recommended. This time, however, we were spoilt by our family.

Things to do

We were able to stay at Basse Provence Country House (Rickety Bridge) and have lunch at the fairly new Protรฉgรฉ.

Of course, it’s still Franschhoek; one of the most beautiful wine regions in South Africa so we visited four wine farms: Mullineux & Leeu, Glenwood, La Motte and Rickety Bridge.

We closed off our weekend away with a spa treatment at the Boschendal farm spa.

Going out and away in South Africa is very seasonal, and as a result, during winter it’s possible to find winter specials for pretty much anything. As a result, we didn’t end up pay full price for any of the treats we experienced.
