Cape Point near Cape Town is often perceived as the Southernmost tip of Africa, but it’s actually the Southwesternmost tip. The real Southernmost tip of Africa is Cape Agulhas.
In February, when Kim’s mom came to visit, we went there for a long weekend. It was very stormy and windy, but the rugged scenery made for some nice pics.
And just to make this post a little bit more interesting; Agulhas is Portuguese for “needles”; it was named as such by Portuguese navigators that way because “the direction of magnetic north (and therefore the compass needle) coincided with true north in the region.” (Source: Wikipedia.)
