Marseille

Shortly after our visit to Avignon, we wanted to do another city trip. Neither Kim nor I had seen the Mediterranean Sea in France*, so we drove for a few hours to visit Marseille for the day. While the city looked amazing, it was just as hot as in Avignon, and we ended up only staying about four hours as our daughter was struggling with the heat. So were we.

I was particularly stoked to see Chรขteau d’If, the prison castle on an island just off the shore where the first part of Alexandre Dumas’ The Count of Monte Cristo takes place.

*We both had seen it in Greece, Spain, and Italy.
